Grace Christian Academy is committed to transparency, compliance with Florida law, and the safety and well-being of every student. The following policies and disclosures are required by Florida law and available to all families and staff.
Standards of Ethical Conduct
Adapted from the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida and Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession in Florida
Grace Christian Academy affirms the worth and dignity of every person and is committed to the pursuit of truth, devotion to excellence, the acquisition of knowledge, and the nurturing of responsible citizenship. Our primary concern is the student and the full development of each student's God-given potential.
Standards of Conduct Toward Students
All instructional personnel are expected to: protect students from conditions harmful to their learning or safety; respect each student's right to independent thought; never intentionally embarrass, harass, or discriminate against any student; never exploit a relationship with a student for personal gain; and maintain confidentiality of student information except where disclosure is required by law.
Standards of Conduct Toward Colleagues
All employees are expected to: maintain complete honesty in all professional dealings; never harass or discriminate against colleagues; never make malicious or false statements about a colleague; and never interfere with a colleague's civil rights.
Training Requirement
All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required as a condition of employment to complete training on these Standards of Ethical Conduct prior to or at the start of each school year.
Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel & Administrators
Pursuant to Florida Statute §1006.061, all employees have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators that affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of reportable misconduct include, but are not limited to: obscene language, drug or alcohol use, disparaging comments, expressions of prejudice, sexual innuendo, academic dishonesty, physical aggression, and the accepting or offering of improper favors.

Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida-certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct are posted in the main office and on this website.
Reporting Child Abuse, Abandonment & Neglect
All employees and agents of Grace Christian Academy have an affirmative legal duty under Florida Statute §39.201 to report all actual or suspected cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect.

Any person reporting in good faith is immune from civil or criminal liability under Florida Statute §39.203.
